How can I advertise my ebay shop cheaply?
Author: admin
Right, so me and my sis and my cousin decided to start a business because we have no money. We make and sell gorgeous handmade jewellery, but the problem is, the only place we can really sell it is on ebay and the problem with that is that no one finds them and so no one buys them. Basically, how can we get more people to know about our business? Baring in mind we don’t at the moment have money? We tried handing out cards on the street and though we gave away quite a few, it didn’t seem to make the slightest bit of difference. What else is there to do??????? I’ seriously considering giving up this amazing business which I really don’t want to do !!!
Use free services like
http://www.sellit-right.com –great and recommended.
http://www.classifieds.yahoo.com
http://www.blogger.com –free way to talk about your Biz.
-Create flyers hand out to people and put in doors too
-Word of mouth. Start with people you know and encourage them to tell others
-Create a logo, attach to vehicles you own.
TIP: You never know where potential buyers will come from; so advertise where you can. Be it an empty or packed ad service. Your job is to sell the product or service- the services are there to help you do that. Take advantage of offers ad’ services are providing especially if they help to maximize the viewing of your ad(s) and increase sales. Keep coming back to the sites you advertise on and change your selling techniques from time to time to reach different buyers.

What can I get my mum for mother’s day?!?
Author: admin
My mum hates the traditional flowers and chocolate, and she’s not a great fan of jewellery - every time I buy something she brings it back.
We have millions of photo frames and vases.
HELP!!
Only problem is, my mum isn’t the kind of person you go for a walk and chat with. She’s not very open.
Why not take her to lunch or supper and then go for a walk together. Material gifts are really not needed to show you care and love her.
Ok, so I have funky ideas, I wants plastic or little enamel charms made for jewellery- for example if I wanted an old fashioned telehone made- is there anywhere I can send my ideas and get them made? im in the uk and need help!!
Visit a big jewelery shop and ask who their suppliers are for charms….then call them and ask. It will be very expensive thoug because charms are made from moulds….they will have to make a new mould for each idea you have. You may be better learning how to make moulds and to melt metal yourself…I know that this isn’t hard to do at home.
London’s secrets………?

Has anybody found any amazing shops in London, those one-off places on the corner? Vintage, retro, jewellery, book shops, Beatles records? Or any cafes/restaurants that do gluten-free food? How about any interesting areas?
Basically, if you love something special in London - TELL ME!
If you go to Seven Dials, which is part of Covent Garden area, there are lots of great shops, all one-offs. It’s a long time since I was there, but I remember a doublefronted shop called Mysteries that sold all new agey stuff, a huge shop that had nothing but buttons of different kinds on 2 floors, a kite shop… Of course, these may be gone, but there’s bound to be quite a few interesting ones. You don’t go to Covent Garden underground station, it’s easier to get there from Holborn - but you will need to ask directions. I used to come out the station on Kingsway, turn right to get onto High Holborn and then go to the left, follow the lefthand pavement and you should find it round a corner.
There used to be a vegetarian Indian cafe there, as well. Like I said, it might not still be there, but that area is full of little unusual shops.
especially rings. Is there any way to prevent this aside from not wearing it?
One ring I have was bought at vast expense from a reputable jeweller.
The cause of this situation is that the acid in your skin is causing the silver to tarnish as you wear it.
Put 2 or 3 layers of clear nail polish on the inside of the ring and you should be fine. Just check it every few days to make sure it hasn’t rubbed off.
Some people just can’t wear silver jewelry though. My father has a beautiful silver ring my mother gave him…and no matter what he did…he still tarnished.
But the thicker the nail polish on the inside…the more protected you will be.
Hiya, I’m looking to sell my handmade items in my home town of Maidstone, in Kent. Mainly handmade cards but also some jewellery bits and candle votives etc… Does anyone have a shop or know of a shop, or a friend of a friend of a friend who’s looking to stock this type of thing?
Any ideas welcome…
Many thanks
Michelle
You can sell them online with ebay or exhibit at a craft show. Here is a handy site to find your local craft shows in Kent http://www.ukcraftfairs.com/find-a-fair-advance.asp. I saw one in November that will be in Maidstone.
